WFMC Producer - Elizabeth Russell
Oregon City Together is a forming coalition dedicated to reducing substance abuse in our
community’s youth. In this first year of our organization, we have received vital support from
the Willamette Falls Media Center in raising community awareness on three important
messages:
| 1. The role of family dinners in reducing risky behaviors in adolescents by way of a PSA for the annual Family Day initiative; |
| 2. The hope of recovery for people struggling with addiction by way of a PSA for National Recovery Month; |
| 3. The need for safe disposal of unused prescription drugs by way of a PSA for the National Drug Take Back initiative. |
The staff at WFMC has been consistently friendly and helpful. The services provided by
WFMC are indispensible in creating a local resource for Oregon City and surrounding areas.
Without this kind of media access, how can we as a community know of the projects, concerns,
and successes we are faced with?
I look forward to fostering a greater partnership with WFMC, and know that Oregon City
Together’s efforts to engage youth in creating positive social norms will be amplified by the
services provided by WFMC. It is clear to me that any investment of time, support, or
resources into WFMC will be amply returned to the community through the cultivation of
Oregon City’s local voice.
