Clackamas County is holding public meetings from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 21, and Tuesday, June 26, for people to discuss and suggest needed improvements to the roadway system in the North Clackamas Revitalization Area (NCRA) urban renewal district. The meetings will be held at the Southeast Christian Fellowship Church, 10110 SE Linwood Ave., Milwaukie.
Improved roadways, including bike and pedestrian access, was one of the funding priorities chosen by the public when the NCRA was established by the Clackamas County Development Agency in 2006. A top priority, the installation of a sanitary sewer system, is nearing completion. That project, undertaken by Clackamas County Service District #1 for Water Environment Services (WES), involved paving a number of area streets that were dug up to install sewer lines. More inforamtion about NCRA is available at http://www.clackamas.us/transportation/renewal/northclack.htm.
For more information, contact Ken Itel at 503-742-4324 or kennethite@co.clackamas.or.us.

Clackamas County will close Barlow Road at Rock Creek (Long Bridge) from Tuesday...
Clackamas County will close Barlow Road at Rock Creek (Long Bridge) from Tuesday, May 29, through Monday, Oct. 1, for road and bridge repairs. The 24-hour-a-day closure, which will extend from Highway 211 to Bond Road, is needed to repair the failing northbound lane and guardrail, replace two bridge timber pile caps and rehabilitate the stream bank. Because one part of the project will require jacking up the bridge's superstructure, and another part will be rebuilding the failing northbound lane, the work zone will be completely closed to all traffic. Posted detour signs will direct traffic around the closure on nearby roads.

Boring Station Trailhead Park to formally open May 19 with locally hosted celebration
A ceremony to mark the completion of Boring Station Trailhead Park will be held Saturday, May 19 at the newly-completed park in downtown Boring. A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. The event will be hosted by the Friends of Boring Station Trailhead Park.
Construction on the park, located near the intersection of SR 212 and Richey Road, began in September 2011 as part of a larger concept plan to convert the abandoned stretch of railroad into a regional trailhead, providing a welcoming destination along the 21.5 mile Springwater Corridor regional Trail which extends from downtown Boring to the Willamette River in Portland.
Supporters and contributors to the project include: The residents and business community of Boring; The Friends organization; Boring-Damascus Grange, Boring CPO, cities of Portland, Gresham, Damascus, Sandy and Estacada; Metro, the State of Oregon and Clackamas County Parks.
The park features a new restroom building, turf areas, bicycle racks, beautiful trees, parking for 30 vehicles and a paved connection to the Springwater Trail. Construction was supported by Metro’s 2006 natural areas bond measure, which included funding for communities across the region to invest in nature close to home.
